Anyone have a suggested solution?

Massive Amounts Of Post-Hurricane Trash

In St Tammany, debris collection has been in full swing for several weeks. I have no idea what they're going to do with all of those refrigerators and freezers. I don't know how many there are but I suspect 99% of the residents of Orleans and Jefferson lost theirs and probably 50% of St Tammany lost theirs. I'll defer to someone else on the math. There is a tree debris dump site near my house in Bush and they're burning it in spite of the ban. I suppose they have permission to do so. The debris dum site in Slidell off of Gause near I-10 is massive. Orleans is just getting underway and it's an enormous undertaking.

All I keep thinking about is how long it takes to clean up just after Mardi Gras alone. This is so much more massive. It's like ten or twenty Mardi Gras put together... Yuck!

The debris is stinky and horrible and the dust has everyone's sinuses completely messed up.

It hasn't really rained in over a month and the dust is everywhere! I wish I could get out of here for a few days.

Whenever I see pictures of all the debris or hear first hand accounts all I can think is - that just can't be healthy. Something is going to have to be done or people are going to get sick. (If they haven't started falling ill already.) Scary.
